• Surfing and laser sailing: Cabarete is a good choice if you want to go surfing. Playa Encuentro, just five minutes from Cabarete, has a reputation among local surfers as the best spot. You can bring your own surf board or rent one in Cabarete. Some businesses will offer lessons and shuttle buses to North Coast surf spots.

• Alegria Bistro & Lounge: This charming little restaurant caters to discriminating visitors and locals who relish Mediterranean cuisine.

• Bambu bar: This restaurant and bar opens from 9am to 11pm. You can eat under the palm trees in front of the bay. At night, the place turns into a pulsating discotheque.

Nightlife

Cabarete attracts a young crowd so the nightlife here is pretty lively. Much of the action is concentrated on the beach strip, which during the evenings comes alive with restaurants, bars and discos.

Golfing

Playa Grande golf course: Playa Grande Golf Course was built with an amazing sea side layout, where 10 of the 18 holes lie right on water's edge, 200 feet above the ocean. There is a nine-hole golf course in the area, Costa Azul.
